Test counselors are trained by the PA Department of Health to provide NON-JUDGEMENTAL, client-centered counseling. Emphasis is placed on reducing risk and changing those behaviors that lead to risk for HIV infection.
The AIDS Project provides a "NO BLOOD/NO NEEDLES" method of HIV-Antibody Testing called OraSure®. Specimens are collected in the risk reduction counseling session. They are sent to a PA Department of Health Laboratory for analysis. Because our specimens are sent to an off-site laboratory, results will be given 10-14 days.

Anyone coming to The AIDS Project for testing must come to the office for their test results. Test results are given to clients through face-to-face meetings only, REGARDLESS of the test result outcome.
